Who will be considered a horror legend in the future?

I was thinking about who will be considered as legends in the horror genre forty years from now. I know that there are very few current "horror only" actors. Actually Robert Englund is the only one...

Re: Who will be considered a horror legend in the future?

Yes, Burton especially.  There's a ton of Burton-bashing on this board, but no one -- not Dante, not Landis, not Argento, not even Spielberg -- has delivered the sheer quantity of major genre films...

Re: Who will be considered a horror legend in the future?

We're not in total disagreement, Rick. I would just rate the amount of "pretty good" lower, and the "flawed" higher. But my real problem with his body of work is the strong degree of gawdawful...

Re: Who will be considered a horror legend in the future?

I've always considered actor Bill Mosely as a  Dwight Frye.  Frye is most known as Renfield and Fritz,  but has appeared in other horror and non-horror roles.  Mosely is mostly known for Choptop from...

Re: Who will be considered a horror legend in the future?

Guillermo Del Torro hasnt made a great deal of horror films though. They are genre benders and so I'm less inclined to consider him.

Something occurred to me a couple of days ago. There actually is a current actor who the general public thinks of as big horror star: Anthony Hopkins. Hannibal Lecter is probably the highest profile...
